Question Phalaenopsis taenialis 'Laos'?

Is this one supposed to be grown as the P. lindenii? A bit colder and dryer than most of the other species Phals?

I have the opportunity to buy either an "ordinary" P. taenialis or the 'Laos' one, but I'm a bit uncertain about how to proceed...

Yes. They are more seasonal than Phal. lindenii though and should be grown a bit drier during the cooler months.

Is there a regional difference in the way the flowers look? If not, I don't think it really matters which one you choose.

The thing is, we don't know. This is one of the reasons why I'm considering buying the 'Laos' version. The price is the same after all so if it looks like a P. taenialis I don't feel I've lost anything. If there's something different about it, that will be just a bonus.

Now I don't know if what I've observed of photos on a Google Image search of Phal taenialis is the result of certain camera tricks or what not, but I've noticed that there could possibly be certain Phal taenialis specimens that tend to be more of a red-violet coloration and other Phal taenialis specimens that tend to be more of a blue-violet coloration. I think this is the difference, idk.

Try the Laos one. I mean, why not, particularly if you already know what the original one looks like and they're the same price.

It has been ordered.
There are other members that have ordered the Phal taenialis and so far only me who ordered the 'Laos'. If there's any difference between the flowers, we will notice if/when we all get them to bloom.
