Cute new phalaenopsis Male
Default Cute new phalaenopsis

I usually dont buy just noid phals but i just couldnt resist this cute little mini and i have NEVER seen this sort of flower on a phal before so it really interests me. Maybe somebody has an idea about what this is or any sort of name/heritage.

The plant growth is thin and small like that of my bellina almost. The roots are quite thin compared to an ordinary phal and the plant is growing at about a 95 degree angle to the pot. It's in a tight thing of sphag right now and i plan on repotting it into a small bark/perlite mix as soon as possible. The flower is white, the two bottom sepals(? petals?) have a very very faint yellow tinge. The lip is a bright orange/yellow color with dark orange spots on the inside. See pictures below.

Thanks for looking!

Ben

Also the pollen cap area is pointing straight out like a little rod. Pretty cool

Your phal is a beauty!
Ok, so you know it's probably impossible to find out what cross it is, but check out Phal. Liu's Fantasy 'Sweetheart'
(P. Be Glad x P. Timothy Christopher) on Orchids.com website. I think there are some similarities.

If I had seen that beauty, it would have followed me home, that's a given.

It is absolutely adorable and the lip and those lobes and their colouration!

Great buy!

You are very welcome! I've been salivating over that phal for a few weeks now (i really don't have space for another addition anymore), and when I saw your pics, they immediately reminded me of the photo I saw on the website. The lip is quite unusual.
