I know, it is a weird question. I've had Phals before that have secreted happy sap, but they've all done it from the spikes (I have three of them doing it now) and never from the leaves and never with this amount of sap. As I wrote somewhere - it's just to keep wiping those leaves since I want it to continue being happy, just less stickily so. This means I won't change anything in my care for it since it seems to like it (but it could show it with a little less enthusiasm ).

Thanks all for trying to "answer" my rather ridiculous plea.

I have several Phals that love to make happy sap, and one plant has sap all along the rim of each leaf, on the underside. It tastes really sweet, with a grassy after taste.

I was inspired to taste my dendrobium spectabile that is spiking with loads o' happy sap and I must say, it was delicious! Sugary, sweet...I think we are on to something here!
