Leafmite - that wouldn't do me any good, all the local vendors know me and will gladly extend credit, down at the Tamiami Show, an Asian vendor allowed me to take plants and pay by paypal when I got home, he didn't even require my name or ID. I plan on going down to the Redlands Show and Sale in May, they always have about 60 vendors from all over the world. I'm sure that there will be something calling my name.

Can I suggest going to the show on a bike? Usually the only way I can avoid coming home with something is not to have room to bring it with me. Or if I have other plans right after so the plants would roast/freeze in the car.

I don't think that a 300mi bike ride in the blazing Florida sun is quite my idea of fun.

You can go by horse. ;P That is the way I would go to keep myself from buying the entire show out, though ramen would be in order for a month! However, the horse might be tempted to nom nom on those delicious looking spikes and leaves!

Well, I might have to check him out because we mainly focus on miniatures. Perfect! Thanks for the recommendation. I adore tiny, obscure orchids.

Being in the Netherlands, that's how I go part of the way to shows! I bike the 6 miles to the train station, then take public transport the rest of the way. So when I'm at shows I can only buy what will fit in the saddle bags. But since I like small orchids, I can fit a lot!

I don't have a driver's license, my bike suffers from the flat-tire syndrome, and I'm having trouble walking because of a smarting left foot so the fact that I've managed to increase my collection as much is practically a miracle!
There are no orchid shows near where I live either so I've never been to one. I wonder what size my collection and wallet would have if there were...

This cold is so not good for clicker-happy people who are suffering from an orchid addiction... If they had shipped a month ago I would only have gotten three Phals instead of eight!
