Phalaenopsis Orchid Spike
Default Phalaenopsis Orchid Spike
I'm new to orchids and I got two orchids for Mothers day last year and they have now grown new spikes. One has a normal single spike but the other has a single spike with 3 branches off of the main spike. I love all the flowers (the main branch now has 11 buds/flowers and the other 3 are still growing) but was wondering if this is a common occurance or if it was just this particular plant.

Welcome. I'm guessing you have a Phalaenopsis "Moth Orchid" and branching is fairly common. Sounds like you have healthy orchids.
