Last night while misting the plant, I noticed what actually might be a bud. I'm not sure since I've never had buds before, but my fingers are crossed. I will follow-up with any changes.

I would try Bright light like you had, and fertilize with a bloom booster fertilizer. It might not have the right nutrients to bloom.

Had 2 different blooming size divisions one I gave up on, the other still waiting for it to bloom.
I have it under 8bulb 4ft t5 unit, but no luck yet. Roots, and growth are not a problem. Not sure if it is too close to the bulbs therefore not getting all the reflected light from 8bulbs? Good luck.

Ok, kind of an old thread that I want to revive. Anyone bloom this one yet? All I get is new plants and no blooms. Had this one for a year or so.

No, I pitched them. Can't bloom them. Made space for things that do bloom. Too bad...

I possibly have a bud now...not sure. I actually contacted the supplier I purchased it from and he said that he has never had luck with his own. Tough plant! I'll keep posted if I see anything.

Ya, that's to bad. It really is a neat little plant. I guess I will have to experiment more with this stubborn bloomer.

Honestly - I don't believe I have ever seen a post from someone who got their's to bloom But, doing a google image search, it seems some people may have (tho on some it seems they may actually have a different species).

I no longer think I may get blooms from mine, but it doesn't take much space, tho it is threatening to outgrow the little twig it is mounted on ... But, after getting a bud last year, there is a teeny bit of hope. And, I do have another orchid I have had nearly as long, and had pretty much given up hope of THAT one ever blooming for me, and it is blooming now (But that one, I have at least seen that others have bloomed it) So ... idk - at least the Tolu doesn't take any space ...

hmmm I don't have this particular variety of tolumnia but reading through others comments, this might be a tough orchid?

Regarless, one think I know for sure is that you don't have to worry about giving it too much light with your setup. You should probably worry the opposite.

I have quite a few hybrids and they all get direct sun from south window. Some leaves get purple spots or entire leaves purple (maybe too much tanning lol) and some are totally green. so the color is really up to the plant.
but strong light is very important in growing and flowering tolumnias.

Also, if yours is mounted, make sure you water them good. If you dry them, they will NEVER flower!
