Am I right in thinking that's your first ever re-flowering? Just had mine (thread shouldn't be too far down...) and it's great. I also have a noid that I remember as being similar to yours (not quite the same), but it's looking like it's going to miss flowering this winter, so a bit more of a wait for that I think!

Congrats! I have learned a lot during the 2+ years I've been growing orchids. The most important lesson I've learned...patience shall be rewarded. Not a fun lesson, but when months (maybe years!) it pays off with beautiful blooms, it sure is awesome!

Rowangreen, yes this is my first re-flowering.

Thank you everyone!

I got this plant as a gift about 3 years ago. The poor thing barely got watered, which probably saved it in the long run, since it had stayed in the same tightly packed sphagnum moss until about 4 months ago. It was stuck in a corner where it hardly got any light. It never grew or anything in that time, but I put it outside for the summer in the pool house and it grew 3 leaves in that time! I left it out until the nights started getting to be about 50F for a few weeks and brought it back inside when I spied the baby spike.

Maybe that's why there are only 3 small-ish flowers? It never got fertilizer. I did buy Orchid Focus orchid food, both Bloom and Grow formulas. I have only used the bloom formula about 3 times in the past 5 months. I dunno, I'm just kind of winging it here!
