USPS Deliveries
reading a complaint about Fedex reminded me about USPS and how good my service is........even better since I asked vendors to write on parcels/or sticky - DO NOT FREEZE or LIVE PLANTS, or something similar. I asked the mail lady ( in my case ) if their trucks are heated - no they are not, but she does look out for marked packages. I have yet to lose a plant through priority mail ( in Winter ), and 1 or 2 have taken up to 4 days to deliver.
Obviously even a heat pack doesn't help if you are not around to collect the plants !

You can also ask the vendor to have the package held at the Post Office. You can then pick it up.

That's a great idea! They always mess my stuff up by leaving it outside for everyone to steal. Only one person was thoughtful enough to walk around back and leave on the back door!

I always have packages held at the Post Office. I think they are starting to hate me. When I am expecting something I call every day till it comes in or it ends up staying over night. We don't get our mail till late afternoon.

thanks, the holding package idea is a great idea. I wonder why e-bay vendors don't recommend it, its the first I have heard of it. I have plants due end-Feb and I am going to request it.
BTW - with tracking - do you get an advice, "ready for pickup" Sounds like you don't ?

With tracking, you type the number into the usps.com site and it tells you where it is at a given time and when it arrives at the destination. Worth the minimal extra cost and it maybe included with Priority Mail, definitely with Overnight.
