Are these spikes or new bulbs on my Oncidium?
Having never grown Oncidiums before, I can't tell whether these are spikes or new bulbs. Help please.

New growths. Spikes will come from between the first and second set of leaves.

Those would be new growths. Looks like a healthy plant! Make sure you don't let it completely dry between waterings, but of course let it dry some. If the pseudobulbs start to shrivel then start watering more frequently.

Agreed, those are new growths. I recently posted a pic of an oncidium that just started spiking:
Like the others mentioned, look for future oncidium spikes from among the leaves.

Hi Geneva dad, I looked at this thread because I bought an oncidium today. Sounds like you got your answer.
I got a chuckle from your signature line and I suggest you tell your wife that if you had a greenhouse then she would know where to find you.

I don't have anything more to add, but out of curiosity, what is that Onc? The label is too fuzzy to read.
