Don't forget tolumnia. They take little space and I've read that they can bloom 3 or 4 times a year. I plan to try some this year. I had one years ago but I killed it.

Hey, I'm new to orchids as well (and started my mottley collection of 10 plants this past summer). I had similar intentions as you--to try and get orchids blooming at every time of the year.

I bought a slc scheherezade recently, and the vendor said that these are supposed to bloom around february with brilliant red flowers. One of its sheaths looks like it may have something growing inside, so I'm hopeful to see that one soon.

I also have an angraecum leonis which is supposed to be a winter bloomer. I doubt I'll be seeing blooms this season, but maybe next year when the roots have grown bigger to give the plant more reserve for flowering.

Good year round bloomers:
Den. NORA TOKUNUGA - had a plant bloom for 2.5 years continous
Bulb. barbigerum - can bloom year round
Psychopsis papilio - sequential bloomers known to bloom themselves to death
Paph. PINOCCHIO - sequential bloomer with blooms that last a few weeks each
