Cattleya brown spots dilemma

Can anyone please help me diagnose what's going on with my Cattleya (did I spell that right???). I've attached some photos but basically the leaves are starting to have brown spots that are on both sides of the leaves. I clipped some leaves already because they had brown tips. The blooms look healthy and not all leaves are affected but I don't know how or with what to treat the spots. My husband has all kinds of orchid fertilizers.

It's hard to tell for sure, but I think I can see some scale at the base of the leaf in the 3rd pic. The spots could certainly be due to damage from sucking insects which then allows for secondary bacterial/fungal infections. Treat with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide - I've been having good luck lately with the Bayer Advanced 3in1 products.
