Update -

I decided to repot the phal in picture number 3. Found that some of the roots continued to rot. I cut off all the dead and replanted it in sphagnum moss with pebbles at the bottom. Along with air holes in the pot there should be good air circulation and water drainage.

My question is what else should I do to help promote more roots and leaf growth?

Thanks again!

Walmart should not be allowed to sell anything living!

One of my orchids had only one root after root rot. I repotted it in straight spagnum moss and it recovered well. If you pot the one in spagnum moss I might even put it in a large, clear plastic bag to increase humidity to help stop leaves from losing so much water. Good luck!

To help stimulate growth you need a little light (east window), humidity (40%-80%), and they seem to grow fast when it is a little warmer (80F-90F). I also like to use organic fetilizers (manure water or store bought liquid organic fertilizer) and fish emulsion fertilizers seem to help.
