Vanda left to rot in water please help
Hi Everyone!
I was in a hardware store, and I saw some Vandas at a very low price. I go check them out and I notice that they are in a big glass vase (about 1 mt tall) with the roots sitting in about 10 cms of water, which had turned kinda murky. There were 3 of them, one looked kinda not as bad as the others so I decided to take it and try do something about it. I perfectly know that the possibilities of actually saving it are low, but I decided to try anyway. As soon as I got back home, I cut off the plastic basket, I cut off the bad roots, and I washed the remaining ones under running water with a tiny bit of vegetal marseille soap. After I let the roots to dry for about 24 hours. After this I soaked the roots overnight in water and an anti fungine containing propamocarb. I then let it dry again. Now I am not sure what to do next...can anyone please help me? Now the roots look a bit more silvery, I guess I'll have to see how things develop...There are a couple of big roots remained, and a good number of small roots, as thick as those of a phalaenopsis more or less... can anyone please help?
Also, I had to destroy the plastic basket in order to clean the roots, so now I don't have a support for the roots of the plant. What can I use as a support? I still have the big glass vase...
