Cattalaya gone wild

Yes, I will post a photo as soon as I take one but in the meantime let me briefly say that I have a cattalya that grew its root around the pot it was in and it became impossible to repot so we just placed the whole thing into a bigger pot. Now the orchid has grown its roots around the bigger pot. the leaves are full but I"m also starting to see some unusual brown spots on some of the leaves. Like I said, I will post a photo but in the meantime I thought I would just put this out there. Thanks!

Now that's just a tease. I'm so curious to see this thing. This may be a no brainer, but maybe the medium has broken down and caused some kind of rot? What is the medium?

I am interested to see what folks say about the brown spots on the leaves...I have a Cattlaya with a strange leave issue as well...

I was told when the roots grow round the pot and none in the centre it's because they don't like the potting medium and have nowhere else to go!

Unfortunately, according to my husband who was the original owner of this orchid before giving it to me to solve the issue, he said there is "no" medium anymore!

Wow what a plant! But it does look pretty dehydrated, either from lack of good roots or underwatering. How often are you watering?

I guess you could soak it very thoroughly and then possibly break the pot. It may be time to divide this monster! The brown spot looks like possible sunburn, but I don't usually get it so I am no expert on that.

That thing is huge. It does look a little dehydrated, any signs of rot though? Do the wrinkly leaves feel soft underneath??? Check it out. Maybe its time to divide if its too hard to repot as one piece.
