Hi All -- First off, Happy New Year! I am excited to start my countdown to spring.
I have been growing a couple of Dendrobiums since October -- both were purchased right before bloom and they were really awesome when they did bloom.
Now that blooming is done, am I doing the correct thing by continuing to water them weekly as I have been doing? I ask because I read about a rest period, but I can not imagine they don't need water??
This is what I have done and this is what has happened thus far after the bloom:
- Continue to water weekly
- Fertilize Every other week
- New shoots (see image below) have spiked from the bottom of the stalks -- I am wondering if this is a good thing or not -- I know sounds strange to be concerned on new growth, but I am concerned that the plant needs rest?
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice / information.
Jared
