With my collection, I have different plants blooming all year long. It would be impractical to have several fertilizer formulations that I select among for each plant.
I fertilize every time I water, I have a chemical injector pump that adds nutritent concentrate to my RO water as it goes to my spray wand. So, I have decided that one thing I will do in the summer when I am watering heavily is to apply different concentrations of nutrient depending on the type of media the plant is in and how actively it is growing. I will first water using the lower dosage rate my plants that are in sphagnum and other retentive media and then adjust my injector pump to increase the concentration of nutrient when I water plants that are in less retentive media such as coarse bark and which get well flushed with every watering.
