New Noid Dendro...
Default New Noid Dendro...

So I went to check out some more out of bloom orchids and found that they had some dendros. I have no idea what it is as it came with no tags. I will post a picture but I do need to do the whole repot business ( I know that they have bugs). The only problem is I know nothing about dendros! So, What am I supposed to know about it? What is different from a phal? It looks as though it has 4 stocks two have some leaves on ( one which looks like new growth and has a good number of leaves) the others are leafless.

I did also get a phal with a label that said purple lips and that was it. It has a unique growing pattern though and the leaves are narrower than the others I have. I will post pictures...

I water my dendro's just like i water my phals, i wait for the roots to turn a whitish color and dry out, then soak them in the sink. The only thing i do differently is i usually give them a bit more sun than i do my phals and they tend to like that. I give them more sun gradually until the leaves are a light green color. Keep all the canes, since the canes without leaves help support the other canes with energy and roots and they can also sometimes respike from those canes. I pot mine up in medium bark mix and they like it a lot. Hope this helps a little
