Just thought of something else....but I did it before the phal's got burned and not after. I cleaned the leaves with Ray's Rise & Shine. I barely left it on because I was outside and the leafs would dry before I would have a chance to let it sit for a couple of minutes before wiping it off. It was watering/cleaning day for the orchids and I haven't had any problems with my other orchids at all, so I don't think that had anything to do with the rot.

It seems unlikely that the R&S played a role - it does have some Physan in it, so would reduce the tendency for rot if left in place.

Terri's suggestion about the high humidity enclosure possibly being an "incubator" sounds like a good one.

I am the queen of burned phals
I can tell you that many will burn down in differently ways. Depending on the thickness of leaves, Humidity levels and how long they have been soaking up the sun

I have melted leaves down to what looks likes rot and head from leaves to the crown area.
So (IMO) it does depend on different factors.

My poor Phal violacea is in ICU right now (again)

Ray I love the R&S! It works wonders, and I didn't think that would have played a role...I was just trying to think of what I had done differently. I am glad to hear the Physan is in it!

I will be taking my phal's out of the orchidarium on my lunch break today, I would hate to have the humidity of it causing more problems!

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Cool

Congratulations Becca!! Wishing you both love and happiness.... Sorry about your Phals. Just recieved a Mini Mark and it sat in the mail box 2 day and nights now the leaves are transparent I can see my hand through the leaves. BUT the roots look really good and there are little nubbies showing so I am hard that it makes it.

Again Congratulations
