To remove leaf or not?
Default To remove leaf or not?

Hey all! I got an orchid the other day and I was wondering if I should remove this bottom leaf b.c. of the black spotting. It's turning yellow too. It might just got watered too much at nursery, but keeping it as always away from my other guys.

Here's a link of the pictures I just took: https://plus.google.com/photos/11414...CKSi_KKLyv6QZg

The third picture is on another leaf. I think it is just sun damage. I went ahead and made a solution of physan and sprayed it with it.

As always thank you for your wonderful advice.

For me, if it's any color but green, it's toast PERIOD!

Removed it as you don't exactly know what is the cause of it.

Removed it because it just might be diseased and it might spread to the rest of the plant and worst if it spreads to the rest of your collection !

It's normal for phals to occasionally lose their lowest leaf. A change in evironment can make it even more likely. I usually cut those leaves off, just for appearance, if you leave it, the leaf will eventually fall off on it's own.

Whatever caused it, this leaf will not come back so you may as well remove it now. I would not be concerned if it's a lower leaf. If it's any of the other leaves, then I would be concerned!
