strange discoloration on phal leaf

What could be the yellowish band around left leaf?
Other than that - plant looks healthy. The roots rotted a bit but nothing fatal. Grew a new leaf here. It just respiked - I cut the spike to let it concentrate on roots growing.
It is regular no id from costco with yellow flowers, non-variegated.

Nothing to worry about. It has some recessive leaf variegation genes in it.

I have a couple like this, it seems in higher light the variegation comes out.

If it's perfectly healthy (which it sounds like it might), it's a nice attribute to have that accentuates the lines of the leaves.

One of mine is showing darker edges along the leaves, almost deep purple/maroon. But it's probably more due to stress, as the plant had been through a lot in the past 6 months.
