Is orchidauction.com good?

Outside of the US also ok as long as they don't charge an arm and a leg for the phytosanitary cert to ship to California (where I am).

Seedlings would be great because I'd like a variety... Preferably fragrant too!

Thanks in advance!

Only a few vandas are grown for their fragrance. Norman's Orchids at orchids.com, and located near L.A., only has a few vandas but they have Ascda. Suksamran Sunlight and Vascostylis Vibbon Velvet. Both those are easy to grow and bloom several times a year. They have the added advantage of having been grow in California so they would be used to your environment. Neither is frangrant. For a lot more money you can look at R.F. Orchids which is world famous for they're vandacous orchids. Smiley's is another Florida grower for vandas. But remember Florida orchids are used to a hot, humid environment. For fragrance Ascocenda Mini Palmer is an excellent choice. Good luck.

Another nice fragrant vanda is Vanda Kultana Fragrance. Only one of our canadian vendors has them for sale, but the price is a bit high $50 before shipping. I am sure it will be easier to find one in USA

I recommend RF Orchids also.
The descriptions on their web page are really good so you can find what you are looking for more easily.
Also, the owner is a terrific human being. (not to say that Norman isn't - he is also)

You might want to try Rhychostylis coelestis as well, smells like grape.

If you order outside the USA be very careful - there are vendors who will promise you the necessary paperwork and not send it (this is especially true on Ebay) and then the chances are your plants will be confiscated.

In any case, the necessary paperwork is still going to cost you quite a bit and is probably not cost effective unless you order a lot. If you can find a vendor who comes to the USA for shows then they will often bring plants with them and ship them in the US - that works well and you don't have to pay for paperwork.

That is exactly what I do, Ron...I order from Thai and Singapore growers who are coming to the USA to attend a show and I order in advance mature have previously flowered vandas(they have many mature vanda specimens)...
Whiteoaksorchids.com is based in San Francisco and they have fragrant vandas.

You guys are awesome! I'll go check out your recommendations...RF orchids look nice.. Same with Norman...maybe I'll drive over there some time.

I have some rhyncostylis gigantea (peach, alba, and red) so just waiting for them to bloom.. got quite a ways since they're still tiny!

thanks again.
