Default intergeneric potting media

Hi fellow growers,
I have several intergenerics that are in bad need of re-potting. What would y'all suggest as a good potting media for these plants? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Danny Medina

What alliance are your intergenerics? Oncidium?

Gage,
They are a total mixture, but all intergenrics. Twenty five of them.
Thanks

Ok, your potting mix depends on alliance for the most part. Cattleya genre need to dry quickly, Oncidium intergenerics USUALLY like a well draining mix that you don't ever let completely dry, Vandas like something that will dry extremely fast (a day or maybe 2), Phals like something that stays moist but not soggy in the middle. So, the mix you choose needs to work with your growing environment. For me, I use CHC and charcoal for Phals and Oncidiums, but sometimes with more charcoal and more drainage for Oncidiums. And for Cattleyas (I'm just a beginner with these) I use hydroton and a little CHC and water every day to every three days depending on the heat.

Gage,
Thanks so much for the input. I'm envious where you live. It is so easy to grow orchids there. Northern California is a little colder.
Thanks again

No problem. I also grow Phals, Oncidiums, and Vandas in my windowsill, but the weather does make for good outdoor growing.
