Default Back in the Greenhouse

Well, we are so fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day with the temperature at 15F! And to go along with this wonderful day are some colorful flowers that I trust you will enjoy.

This one is not true to color and I'm not sure why. It is a much deeper purple. I got this as a plug about 2 yrs ago from a friend in Florida. It originally came from Carmela's, so if you go to their website, you'll see its true color.

This Paph was given to me by a friend from our Orchid Society. It is a cross made by Graham at Lehua Orchids and he named it in honor of one of our Society's children who died.

This is the 1st flower on this plant. Somewhat smaller than one of my other fairrieanum's.

Thanks Silken... but not always. Like many of us, we only show the good shots. Any photographer know never to show anyone those pictures that end up in the circular file or fall prey to the DELETE button...

LOL being an avid photographer I do know that too! But you do have many lovely subjects to shoot and get lovely results just the same. Thank goodness for digital! I'd be broke if I was using film

Isn't that the truth! Film? What? Yes, I used to do slide stock but that was in my other life and now Thank You Digital!

On the fist pic, if you were using flash try taking it without? I have one that's pink with flash and purple without...

Thanks, but just natural light.... I even adjusted the white balance to more purple... no go! Also, as you may know, if you have your film temperature set incorrectly, pictures will have a different color.

If the sun is shinning as it is today the temps reach 85F+. On cloudy days, I'm lucky to see 68~72F with the heat running. It was just really cold outside yesterday. At night I let it drop to about 62F+/-
