Ya, Merlyn you are really trying to work the number downward if you have one in the mail. LOL I added three today and have 2 more coming at some point here.

I have a sarcastic, self denigrating sense of humor !!! INOW, I was poking fun at myself, but you KNEW that !!! Even more sarcastic will be the downward path after the planned trip to the Fishing Creek Orchids open house on Sunday !!!! See what I mean ??!?!?!?!!! I've been chanting to myself "only one more", "only one more", "only one more", and probably won't stop until we're on the way back home Sunday !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been over a year since I began growing orchids, and I still don't understand the words 'control' and 'self-restraint'!    Once I run out of room in my closet, I will build another stand, and once I have no more room to place new stands, I will try to get my older brother evicted from the house so i can use his bedroom, and then after that, I'm going after my parent's bedroom!!!

ROFL!!!! Well, I do have to say it has been therapy of a sort for me - it's been a really tough past few months - to the point that I'm starting to worry about the effects of stress on my overall health. But I saw the gigantea and I wanted it so badly that my wallet could not resist the urge to spend!

It is a few years away from blooming size which is why I was able to purchase it so cheaply. However, it is still rather large. After everyone gave me such great suggestions on the other topic I posted about not having much room, I've decided to drill some screws into the wooden frame of the guest bedroom and hang it in there.

I'm still excited to see what orchids I will be bringing home from the OS Christmas dinner too on Friday, lol...

Orchid therapy is good! I too want a gigantea, but it's, well, gigantic! I don't think I've ever seen an adult plant for sale, it's always seedlings. The first time I saw a full grown plant in person was at a show 2 months ago, and I was like :yikes: It's enormous! The blooms smell amazing as well.

I hope you get yourself lots of new orchids on friday!:biggrin:
