Haraella retrocalla update: bloomed and... remounted

I posted my Haraella retrocalla mounted on a clay pot a while ago. It was in bud back then and I promised to post picture when it blooms. Here it is:


Yes, I remounted it.
I found that my clay pot mount had too much moss, it smelled wet. Eventually I took moss off and kept clay pot in the saucer with water, until yesterday, when I got grapevine wood from the pet store.
I like the look of the wood mount better.
What do you think?

Very nice indeed! Where do you house it? What's your humidity like? I have both of mine mounted in a terrarium set-up.

Thank you Paul! It sits on the plastic tray together with few phalaenopsis species on the ledge in the kitchen, humidity here is between 65 and 70 % with occasional spikes to 75% when I am cooking a lot . Our thermostat is set at 21 C day and night but it gets to 25 during the day when the sun shines. Its been on this mount for two days only and I am misting it twice a day. I am planning to give it a good soak once a week, probably with some fert. Will see how it goes.

I like this set up better. After seeing your pics. I have decided to get another one in February. I've had them before, and all died after blooming profusely. I now have a cooler terrarium to put it in after blooming. Who knows.

Camille posted info on this earlier this year and advised to give it a rest period. In my place that would mean: somewhat drier and cooler.

Yes, they do tend to bloom themselves to death if not fertilized regularly and given a rest period.

I suppose for colder rest period I could put her in the basement, it is cool enough to trigger spikes on phals.
I use 20-20-20 on my other orchids but very occasionally. What kind of fertilizer would be ok for Haraella?
