Creating an avatar

Can anyone tell me how I can create and avatar that identifies me when I post threads?

Near the top of the page (just under the Orchid Board banner) there is a bar running left to right with 'buttons'. Choose 'User CP' (User Control Panel), on that page, there is a vertical column menu, just to the right of the sight menu column at far left). Look for 'Settings and Options', and right below that is 'Edit Avatar'
