If those older bulbs still have enough good roots to support it, then it has a fighting chance. These are slowish growers, so you may have a while to wait before that new growth matures and grows its own roots.

And yes, they like water, but like to dry out quickly. If you have a small enough pot in relation to the root mass, it should do fine.
The grower from which I got my Psychopsis has really great potting method: potted in chunky bark in a net pot, and the net pot is placed inside a slightly larger transparent plastic pot to keep some humidity around the roots. Works great.

I was watering like that for a while, dunking that is. I washed out the mixture every few weeks with a strong blast of tap water. I can do that again easily.

So am I NOT supposed to mist the new growth? I really don't understand not getting new growths wet, as they would become saturated during rain in their natural environments. But if that's what works, I'll do. Anything to keep this new sprout from dying.

And what about fertilizer? Should I suspend feeding for a while, or keep up a normal schedule?

There's nothing wrong with misting, as long as you have sufficient air movement! Stagnant water on the leaves is the problem since it can encourage disease to develop. Don't forget that in the wild orchids are always exposed to air movement, especially since they are up in the trees.

And yes, you should keep fertilizing, if you starve the plant it won't have energy for the new growth.

Done and doner. I'll continue misting, and ensure air movement. I'll go water now, even.

Thanks guys and gals! I'll try to to remember to post updates. :S

I'm sorry I didn't post the natural environment shots today. It's raining like.....errrr... some beach and I recently got home from taking a few folks to the Rio Celeste.
I'll go up tomorrow after, I make breakfast, and send them on their way.
You need to see the natural growing condition for these things. Can I post a ten second video ????

Lied again. Tomorrow ( Monday) I promise. Today felt like Buffalo NY. I didn't even go outside.
