How cute! I love the minis! I just told myself no more Phals unless they're minis.

Yeah, she's getting under way. Could be about another month until you see some blooms. Ah, so that's what it's called when the buds are dropped. "Blasting". I guess like blasting them off the spike.

Is the plant too dry or too wet (causing root rot, this is the most common cause)? Are you using softened water instead of clean water? Are you using too much fertilizer? Are the plants being subjected to a cool draft? Is the plant near strong fumes such as new carpets, refinishing woodwork, etc.? Bud blasting is a common problem with Phalaenopsis. Fortunately, there is almost always a reason that can be determined.
I think they left out "over estimation"... a phal sets out to produce a certain number of buds, but then later decides it'll be too much for what energy reserves it has, so it blasts some of the buds.

Here are another 2.5 that I just noticed in spike this morning. The first one is a mini mark and the other is a mom and keiki pair - both in spike! I've never had them both in spike together, this will be a first blooming for the keiki!

Default my emma

My emma white is really happy. It has given me 2 sets of blooms. The stems are so heavy. Love her!!

I also have 3 phals that have stems. Will post those when I see some colour.

Don't know if it's my computer...the emma photo is too tiny to view for me. Can anyone else view it?

sii, your photo is only 2.9 KB and too small to see anything on. can you re-post a different larger one? I'd love to see it.
