Unhappy Keiki Mishap...Help

While removing a keiki from my NOID den, I screwed up the cut which resulted in the roots being left on the parent plant.

I didn't have the heart to throw away the now rootless 12" keiki so I potted it anyway and watered it with a DynaGro KLN rooting hormone solution in the hopes it will encourage new roots to form.

Has anyone here had a similar experience and was still able to successfully grow the keiki?

If a keiki too immature it might not work, but try the sphag and bag method.
