Default Goodyera pubescens - indoors

I have a flock of Goodyera pubescens orchids. They grow and overwinter very well outdoors in my zone (7a).

My grower-mate is asking for some cuttings. She cannot grow them outdoors because her place is too sunny and windy for these jewels.

Growing them indoors is an alternative.

What do you think? Are they suitable as houseplants? Or they just die????

Thanks.

That is the rattlesnake orchid!
it grows in the east coast of north america
okies heres the info :

Soil media: a mix of one fourth garden compost and one fourth milled sphagnum, one half course builders sand. Mulch with decayed wood chips. Good drainage is the most important aspect to remember. Soil PH: should be slightly acid. (Seedling size fir bark is also an acceptable media)

Light conditions: filtered light. They cannot tolerate direct sun light as this burns the leaves.

Moisture requirements: keep the plants evenly moist during the active growing season from midspring thru late fall.

Fertilizing: use one quarter strength 30-10-10 twice a year in early spring and again in late summer.

Planting: place the rhizome just below the surface with the crown of the plant slightly resting on the top of the surface.

Hardiness: these plants are very hardy and adapt themselves to pot culture quite easily. They do need a cool rest of at least two months with temperatures between 40F to 45 F in mid December

Yes, that is the downy rattlesnake plantain.

So they can't grow without a cool rest.

I grow them in zone 7a outdoors all year and they can withstand temperature in the 10s.

They are a fairly common plant of well drained to dry forrests here in PA and I have seen them farther north even, in zone 4. Bud's description of the light and soil conditions are spot on for where I see them growing in the wild.
