How to mount a phal cornu-cervi Male
Default How to mount a phal cornu-cervi

I understand that these take to mounting far more readily than most phal's in a lower humidity environment. Indoors, my humidity ranges from 50 to 60 percent through the winter with occasional dips into the 40s.

My original thought was to mount it on cork or something similar with a small amount of sphag under the roots. I am specifically concerned about mounting it with sphag over the roots though.

Any thoughts and suggestions on this?

When I was lookng for info on cornu-cervi I came across this:
Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi: Remounted (3)
and thought that roots looked very healthy on that mount.

Personally I would mount it on cork bark. I think it would look most natural that way. Cork bark also has lots of nooks and crannies for the roots to grab onto.
