Well, it's been a few months, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news: I had two new leaves sprouting. The bad news: (I'm assuming you picked up on the past tense) I moved and had no safe place for my orchid, so I left watering instructions for my mom. She decided if you use twice the fertillizer, you only have to water half as often.

When I touched the pot, the leaves turned to dust.

BUT I got somewhere, thanks to your help, the roots are on my table, I'm going to go through them and see what I can salvage.

I have read about Willow Water, and I have Pussy Willows right outside my front door. Has anyone had positive results with using it? I may try (I can't kill it any worse than it already is) soaking it that way.

Pictures to follow.

Ok, I think this will work.

Oh dear... your mom really needs to realize that making assumptions does not tend nicely to plants.

& err, I'm a newbie myself as well but to me it looks like your plant can't be saved... the crown and roots on it are dried out and disintegrating o__O that is if what I'm seeing really is as it appears to be.
