I am just curious about your phalaenopsis (what is the plural form?).
How old is your oldest one, and how many leaves does your most leafy one have?
I have one that has six leaves on a side, and the bottom ones are beginning to yellow. I know it is healthy overall, and that is just part of the normal growth...it is sending out aerial roots all along.
I think my really leafy one has about 12 or 14 leaves. My wife gave it to me this past Fathers Day (my first). Obviously I have no idea how old it is. It's not a huge plant, just kinda tall.
My biggest has 16 leaves, 8 on each side. One is just tiny and recently started, and one at the base is starting to dry up. It's one of my first and I've had it since 2008 so it's probably a couple of years older than that

Whoops, I counted today and it has just 9 leaves. Maybe because this is my most upright growing Phal, it looks like a lot more leaves when they're all stacked up like that. It'll be all flopped over like the rest of 'em by the time I'm done with it. I can't move them outside until they're growing sideways hanging over the edge of the pot, otherwise they'll get crown rot from the rain. I will be glad to have the floor in front of the sliding glass door cleared of Phals!
