If you're going to try a nepenthes, N. alata is a good first choice. Easy to grow, it is very free at producing pitchers.
Mine was up with the vandas, and grew like made until I gave it away to make room for a few more orchids.

Okay, here is my Nepenthes copelandii:
This species is listed at the Nepenthes University as "easy". Another recommendation as a first choice could be N. ventricosa, listed as "very easy". The website is: Nepenthes University
A great website.

I have grown many of the Nepenthes and find that N. ventricosa is the easiest to grow and get pitchers from. It is a little smaller than the big ones, but still really cool looking.

I have no idea. Someone told me but I forgot it. I got it last fall. When I got it it had all dying pitchers, this is a whole new crop!
