Phal light question? Male

Wow! Thanks for all the great replys. I think the idea of too much light is a reasonable idea and I will try to reduce it for awhile and look for changes. I use an orchid fertilizer (20-14-13) and I aim for 100 to 150 PPM nitrogen so I don't think there would be a deficiency.

Sorry to resurrect this, but I am facing purple leaves (almost positive mine is bc of light) and was curious how yours turned out.

Just for my own info-
Is it ok to ask people for updates and resurrect old threads? Idk if it is proper forum etiquette or not lol. And then sometimes I start a new thread when I really should just search my inquiry first bc someone has most likely talked about the subject already.
Thanks

I dont think anyone minds. The more we go back over these things the less we have to think about them .

Light is by far the largest part of the purpling effect but I bet if you got really purple leaves on your phals, I would just about bet the flowers are purple too which adds more purple coloring to the leaves.

if your phal is white the leaves arent going to be so purple or have much of a reddish tint to the leaves. the purpling tells you, you are at the high side of light the plant can use and its putting on some sunscreen

That first statement almost makes sense

Yep, has some purpleish red (fuchsia?) "blush"
Also too bright for a few weeks.

Also, just found the "more" section for smilies
