How do you know it's a correct name if it's not registered?

I googled the name he listed and the only orchid that showed is the one with "of Poland"
it might be from the seller or the grower who did the hybrid...
but its not in the Royal Horticulture Society list

some hybrid growers put names of the orchids they sell even if the registration is pending

that is why it is important to know the parents(usually the parents are registered)

I just happened to have this plant and it has quite a nice flower, by the way. It is a "real" blue. I will post a picture. I got it as a seedling through a trade with one of the members who I think got it from a nursery owner in the Tampa, Fl. area. The name escapes me at this time but it is something like Ranzowski. It is a very compact grower and prolific bloomer that blooms three times per year for me. I have had the plant for about three years and this is the first time that I have encountered someone else who has one. I think it is just a name someone made. I decided to just enjoy the nice, vigorous, everblooming plant and forget about it's family tree.

That is such a beautiful blue flower...yes, it's got a name as the grower/hybrid have given it...even if it's not officially in the RHS list yet. Thanks Jerry...
