MINI Orchids - Help please~ Female
Default MINI Orchids - Help please~

Hello everyone,

I just joined the forum and got some questions for my new addition - mini orchids.
I built a 100 gallon terrarium recently because I felt so bad about leaving them outside (we’re in TX…) My orchids seem to enjoy the new home so I decided to add a few more.
Here is the list of my new addition of the mini orchids (those are not shown in the pictures, yet):
Epigeneium nakaharai
Epidendrum longirepens
Lepanthes scalaris

A little background about my terrarium:

1.) Lighting: T5 Grow Light 2 Ft 4 Tubes Hydroponic Light System (total 8,000Lum, 6,500K white, 4x27 watts) about 12 hrs in fall, 11.5hrs winter, 15.5hrs spring & 14hrs in summer
2.) Humidity: between 50-70, I installed a fogger system it’s on every hour from 6am-6pm for 12 min, every other hour at night for 10 min. I also place some humidity trays but having a hard time to get the consistent humidity over 70%
3.) Temperature: 86 degrees/daytime; 72 degrees/night (winter 68 degrees)
4.) A computer fan at the top of the screen running 24/7

Do you think the mini will do well in the terrarium? Or, does anyone have experience about those mini orchids?? Thanks for the advice!!

Hello and welcome!
Your terrarium is fantastic and I would think your new minis would do wonderfully.
