Default Orchid Supplies

Hey Everybody!
Does anyone know where I might find orchid supplies that won't kill me with shipping? I am only looking for a couple of teak baskets and 3 wire hangers. I live in Georgia and everywhere I have searched so far the shipping is almost as much as my order.

Have looked locally but no joy so far.

Thanks

J

Shipping and handling costs can be really daunting; but I just close my eyes and pay through my nose. You can find free shipping on some Ebay bought items and the seller will give you a discounted shipping if you have several items bought. I usually get my teak vanda wooden baskets from Greenbarn orchid supplies from FL...I just recycle wire hangers from the dry cleaners to use as my vanda wires...a good plyers and wire cutter comes in handy.

Everyone likes a good vendor, but you should be a good customer, too.

I sell baskets at pretty good prices (especially as I don't charge extra for the hanger), only pass on my actual, discounted shipping cost from FedEx Ground/Home Delivery.

I only add a small service charge if your order is under $20, but I think that's reasonable considering the cost of packing supplies and labor. I opted to do that rather than inflating my prices and/or shipping costs. Don't forget, I'm not in business just for the fun of it!

I am repeatedly surprised when I get a half-dozen small orders from an individual over a relatively small time frame, when doing a little thinking ahead and purchasing a single, more-substantial order would have saved the customer a bundle. (No kidding - one person placed 7 orders in a two month period, and not one of them was over $15. Heck one was for two $0.75 pots, which cost a total of about $12, with my "small order service charge" and shipping.)
