Looking for feedback: Ten Shin Gardens
I am in the process of pre-ordering plants from Ten Shin Gardens to pick up at the October show. Did anybody ever get anything from them? Please share your experience. Just wanted to know what to expect .
Thanks a lot.

It's not much help but I have seen their booth at an orchid show and they had nice stuff. I can't remember details. And I don't think they would be invited back again if their reputation was poor. I assume you are referring to the Toronto show??? They will also be at the Calgary show.

Thank you for the bumps people. Silken, I am thinking about Montreal show, Toronto is too far from us.
I guess I just pre-order and then will let you all know how it turns out. At least I plan to be picking them up and can see the chids right there.

I recently got a phal tetraspis 'c1' from Ten Shin Gardens. I didn't buy directly from them; I bought from someone who imported some plants from them a few months ago.
As a general observation, imported plants need a bit more time to get re-established due to the overseas journey. Fortunately, mine seems to be adapting to my home by growing new roots and a new leaf.

I pre-ordered some plants from them for our February show, and so had quite a few others. When we came to pick them up, we were told to take them from the table. Since there was only 1 phal. gibbosa left, and it was quite dessicated I was not impressed. This was the story for all of us. We were their last stop before going back, maybe you have better luck with the Montreal show. I don't know if we're just spoiled by other growers, but to us pre- ordering means: plants reserved and ready to go. They have nice plants, and I will certainly buy again from them if they have what I am looking for, but I won't pre- order.

I pre-ordered some plants from them to pick up at the Calgary show. I'm a bit nervous now LOL. I guess you can refuse to buy the plant if its not in a good condition. But it only works if you are going to pick it up. Not much choice if you choose to get it shipped to you.

Yes, that's what I expect. I pre-ordered just once before from Clouds and they were reserved, pre-packed and ready to go. But there I had to pre-pay during ordering.
Ten Shin states that you pay when picking up. Maybe that's why they didn't really care if you get it or someone else does. Although that would totally negate the whole idea of pre-ordering.
Now I am worried too.

Eggshells, I hope everything will be fine. Let us know how it turns out.
