Shipping from Hawaii?
So is there anything special needed to order a orchid from Hawaii? I know there is all kinds of paper work needed for ordering from other countries, but what about Hawaii? Thanks for any help your able to provide.

Nope, I ordered from Hawaii many times just like how I ordered from other states. I don't know about certain states with stricter restrictions like Arizona, though.

I haven't ever gotten anything special when I buy from the Hawaiian growers but I'm in MO. There are a few states that have plant shipping requirements and the nursery should know. You can also check with your state agriculture department for their requirements.

You don't need anything special to ship out of Hawaii, but you do to ship into it. I have several from there.

I just moved to Minnesota. I still need to add that info to my profile. I'm near St. Paul so the winter isn't as crazy as north Minnesota. Thanks for everyone's help!

lol its crazy in az, anything has to be bareroot OR comes from a greenhouse that's sealed off from the outside to avoid contimination of japanese beetles or something dumb like that. i had a couple come in from hawaii though, no roblem. it depends on what nursery you want to order from

The nursery is certified so I'm not worried. I just wanted to check before ordering anything so I'm not hit with any surprises.

contacting them and asking if they ship to your state would prolly be the best choice then to get rid of any doubts

I have several orchids delivered from Hawaii...especially from that Japanese sounding online store "Kawamoto" or something...they pack them well in a flower shop box its so cool...but they dont deliver to Arizona (I dont know why a lot of US growers dont want to deliver plants to AZ and Hawaii) but I can receive plants from Arizona growers and Hawaiian growers...New York growers just dont want to send to those states.
