I have nine, one with a keiki, so nine and a half. So, I think I'm still is the "safe zone". I tell myself, as long as they fit on the humidity tray, I'm good. Then I end up buying another tray, then I tell myself that as long as they fit on the tray, I'm good. You can see where this is going.

I have 43 mostly miniatures, but everytime I say "Guess what?" to my friends, they answer "You got new orchids?"

Once your orchid count has reached a critically high level, just start buying mini orchids and "hide" them among the larger ones. Or, hang orchids from windows, even if they don't normally grow in hanging baskets. Great efficient use of space.

I am up to 175 and if an intervention would help, my family would have done it a while ago.

Hahaha, my intervention I'm planning is getting a green house to fit more orchids. I only have a few, my wife already gets jealous and thinks I'm nuts.

For me, it will be once my closet plant stand is absolutely jam-packed with 'chids. But then once that happens, I will build a new stand, fill that up, and then build another! For me though, my critical mass will be when the parents tell me that I cannot build any other stands! By then though, I should have around 150 (50ish per stand, depending on the size of the 'chid).
