My new dendrobium repot
Default My new dendrobium repot

Hi there OB,

I decided today to repot my new dendrobium i brought on thursday as the bark it was potted in was really broken down and smelly, I've repotted it in the same medium i use for my phals - it's from Peter White Orchids, a mix of medium and small grade douglas fir bark perlite and foam, i gave it some dyna-gro orchid pro fertilizer too.

Is it best to put it in a more shaded position to let it rest for a bit?

I, personally, would not let it rest. I figure if it's been through any stress why stress it more and keep it out of what it needs to survive, the sun. I use liquid rooting hormone after I repot to encoruage root growth.

I usually place the orchids back where they were after a repot, unless the plant had little or no good roots

I usually just put them back where they came from as well.

Yes, I use Dyna-Gro K-L-N and will put it right back in the light/sun where it was. Dens are tough.
