Default Orchid in my friends garden in Oz

Hi there OB,

My friend who brought me my first orchid a few years back and another for my birthday this year is living in Darwin Oz and she sent me some pics today that she thought i'd like. The orchids are growing on a tree in her garden i would like to know what they are? They look like a type of dendrobium am i right? but the flowers look a bit different.

Great pictures i love to be able to grow them like this :-)

Looks like it could be Den. anosmum, aka superbum. They get really long bare canes like that.

Yes that it the one, thank you very much quiltergal for the info. I can tell her what type it is now. I sent her a dendrobium for her birthday this year to think she would have them on a tree in her garden too :-)

It could also be Den aphyllum (aka Den pierardii). It also blooms off long bare canes, and although the blooms are hard to see, I'm more tempted to say that it's aphyllum rather than anosmum because it seems to have a fuzzy lip.
Of course, it may be something entirely else!

I agree with Camille, looks more like aphyllum, the petals don't look wide enough to be anosmum

Yup, I'm almost certain that it's aphyllum! Mine looks exactly like that.
