I'm new to this as well. Many of my plants are losing leaves, etc. Other than the increased misting & watering (when needed), trying to shade as much as possible, holding off of fertilizer, & bringing some inside (my poor paphs)--any other hints?

I am fearful that many of plants will not "bounce back" when it cools off. I suspect we will not see cooler temps until December.

We both dont have the humid air California and Florida have for bare root in a basket(but in summers Manhattanites breathe water and vandas love the humidity)...better get it indoors before it tastes frost or you will get rotten roots; you have 2 more weeks before frost kicks in...layer some coco fiber on the basket and curl the roots in it like a nest and put some large media of coco chips, lava rocks and charcoal around the roots...it will retain moisture longer but will not rot the crown(if you know how to drill holes on glass then put it in a vase)...hang it in your brightest window; or if your bathroom has a window : hang it there...your morning showers will humidiy it...if not : invest on a 2 gallon humidifier at Home Depot for $35...turn it on 2 feet away from the plant
