Default Orchid Myst. Hit or Sshit?

Anyone have any comments about this product?

Just want to know if it good as, the other orchid food brand out there. I have never feed my orchids before. The Myst seems to be very easy---

I had a look at the product page, and personally I think it's a bit of a marketing gimmick. Supposedly it does all this:
- nutrient solution
- growth enhancer; will support healthy growth and heavy flowering
- pest repellent
- plant tonic
- leaf conditioner
CONTAINS mineral nutrients, organic nutrients, marine plant extracts, humic acid, fulvic acid, pure plant oils.

My opinion on this are that you don't need a 'growth enhancer' (whatever it is) and the rest of it if you provide good culture and use a good fertilizer applied regularily. You'll likely get the same results for a fraction of the cost. I also read somewhere else that this thing gives "all the elements needed in the the right proportion and right concentration. It would be nice if they would tell you WHAT those are. And IMO the reasons given HERE for using it are not good reasons. I'm also afraid that the essential oils they put in to get glossy leaves might make the plant more susceptible to sunburn.

I'm curious to know other people's opinions.

I not looked at it in detail to be honest, but that's because my first impression of it was a marketing gimmick so I never bothered finding out more.

I've got some. Came as a give-away when I ordered from a site and they didn't have what was advertised. I've used it but haven't noticed it actually doing anything... Other than when I sprayed my Catt, a couple of days later I wondered why it looked as if the leaves had been waxed and it was flaking off?? The only thing I could think was maybe something in the orchid myst, but I use it so rarely I can't confirm this and haven't used it on my Catt again because of this... I just mist my Militonia with it once in a blue moon hoping to use it up! The bottle makes such a lovely fine mist I want to use it up to put water in it! ROFL!

I have used organic supplements a lot for the last three years.

They are all made out of seaweed, kelp bases. Most are very good for plants. BUT everyone that I have tried and liked lists exactly the amount of every item in the product.

if the three companies I have researched or tested can list exactly what they deliver (and minimum levels are guaranteed) then other companies can do the same.

Everything listed is found in seaweed and except for the oils. But without levels is the product just seaweed chopped in water or are they growing a strong concentrate like the companies I use.

Bracillus bacteria, which is one of the best ingredients in seaweed is guaranteed by my manufacturer to have 5.5 x 10 to the 10th per pound of colony forming units. That's 55 billion per pound.
