From what I have read, they can take about 1,000 fc and be happy, but they can easily be pushed to around 1,500. Now of course the move to higher light would have to be gradual, so as to prevent leaf burn from too much light at once.

Now... I don't know how to measure the Foot Candle stuff. So I'm not 100% sure how to do this. I know that it is a small (18") flourecsent light that would be about 2ft. above the plant, 5 days a week for 8-9 hours a day. On the days that I'm not there I was just going to set it on up on a shelf to get the regular room Fourecsent lighting. |

So to all of us addicts, what's going to happen when we grown old? Anyone thought of opening up a facility for elderly folk with orchids. the place would have a very large sunroom or green house where the tenants could house their babies. Can't see the run of the mill home accomodating at least 30 plans per resident. Of course if we were to come into scads of money , we would have no probs. Just a thought...something to make you go hmmmm  |
