Sorry to hear about what happened to you. I had an issue with one orchid I received and I contacted them. I wasn't impressed with their response so I am not going to order from them again. Try Exotic Orchids of Maui, Hausermann's, Andy's Orchids or Al's Orchid Greenhouse. I find these places to be much friendlier. They may not have everything but they will do their best to take care of you as a customer.
Love hausermann. I received a beautiful pap. in spike from them that just open. Came with a care sheet and beautiful packaged. I've gotten better orchids from eBay.

Last two are of the wrong plant that came missed labeled
I can see why you would be upset; on the flip side, the spots on the Zygo. leaf are normal; they have a tendency to develop "crud" on the lead tips, even under optimum culture; there are discussions about this in the forums above. I'll second the others recommended nurseries, and throw in Sunset Valley Orchids, Diamond Orchids & New Earth Orchids as suggestions as well.

Thank you so much for that information! I've been following this forum for years. This is the first time I've posted. I have just under 40 orchids. Started collecting in 2009. And my friend is a beginner. Just so mad! I've experienced a lot through the years but nothing like this. I feel like they deceived us. After waiting three weeks they shipped Tues and it came Thurs. And I'm especially upset over them sending the wrong plant with the wrong label as if we were stupid enough not to figure it out when it's not even remotely similar. What a waste of time and resources. The wrong orchid even had bugs. Medium is really bad. Every one of them needs to be repotted. It's completely deteriorated. Never again!
I have made many purchases from Seattle Orchid. In fact, my most recent purchase arrived today. Overall, I am happy with the plants I've recieved and they have an excellent selection. Only one plant was slightly below my expectations but that doesn't mean anything was wrong with it. It just wasn't quite as spectacular as I had hoped it would be...no matter, its growing well now.
What I have noticed is that the more you keep track of their inventory, the better chances you have of receiving a nice plant. I had saved a few plants to my "wish list" that were out of stock and jumped on them when they came back in. The plants sent to me were very nice. On the flip side, I've recieved plants that obviously had been sitting on a shelf in the back of the greenhouse for a long time. Those needed repotted immediately!
I have not received a plant that I thought was diseased but I have had a few gnats fly out of the medium at me. As with all new purchases, repotting and segregating is a wise choice!

I've not visited Seattle Orchids, but I believe (based on the plants that I have purchased in the past, the plants I've seen at shows and the format of the website) that the main focus is more that of a clearing house for plants--plants come in from wholesale nurseries bare root (ie Ecuagenera, Matsui, The Orchid Works, etc.) and are potted up, listed on the site and shipped off. If you go through the site you will notice that many of the pictures are provided by these wholesale establishments (as noted above); you may also notice that the availability window (I think it's called anticipated stock date or some such) of many plants roughly coincides with the major west coast orchid shows; I believe that an order is probably made up every three months or so, and when Ecuagenera or one of the foreign vendors is here for a show, the plants are shipped. Plants are potted, listed, etc.
Depending on what I am ordering from nurseries, I often check to see if the same item is stocked by Ecuagenera, Peruflora or Colombian Orchid Imports; many species and a number of hybrids are, often at much reduced prices--if you are willing to wait the 1-3 months until they will be in the US and are comfortable with receiving bare root plants.
