Unhappy dendro w/yellow cane

I was watering my orchids this morning and seen that my dendro's leaves on one of the the canes was turning yellow now it looks like the cane is turning yellow too. Its a bit softer in the middle, it has never bloomed and only has 5 leaves on the cane.(well now 4) All the dead roots have been cut about a month ago. Theres not very many healthy looking roots maybe 2 or 3. I really don't know what to do with this dendro.

I'd remove that cane, give the rest of the plant a spray of brown Listerine and see what happens.

If it only has 2-3 healthy roots the plant may be using that cane to supplement what it's not getting from a full healthy root system. If it's not rot, I'd leave it. On the other hand if you do suspect it is rot cut it off.

If there is very little in the way of a root system, then there's no support to supply water to the canes.
It could spout new roots or even a new canes.
Time will tell, Good luck

Terri is correct in her statement. Your orchid will tell you eventually what is happening. The only time I cut back a cane is when I know it's exhausted all it's feeding potential to the plant.

I am wondering though what you meant by "softer in the middle". Makes me think that it possibly could be from over-watering. How often do you water? Do you grow indoors?

Yes I grow indoors in a little hot house/greenhouse I have a t-8 light on them and a fan it stays about 85 during the day and 75 night. I water them about every 3 days I just put them in a pot with holes in the bottom and sides to make sure I don't over water them. Should I let them dry out or keep damp?
