calcium?

I am hoping someone could give me a bit of advice. My water in Ontario is lacking in calcium as I am getting some light borders on some of my orchids (phals). I purchased some dolomitic lime pellets and have no idea if I am supposed to crush them up or drop a couple on the top of the pots, or dissolve them in water. The components are (CA) 21% (Mg) 12% (CaCO2) 70%. Will this be ok to use? I have just started giving my orchids epsom salt once per mo. as was recommended to me, if I use the dolomitic lime should I stop the epsom salts? I also have 1 maudiae slipper and I understand that they need lime, would this be ok to use on it? Thanks for the help

I'm not sure about the lime as you would need to find out how much to apply. However, if you use a well balanced fertiliser it will have all of the calcium you should need - but I may be wrong.

Unfortunately all the fertilizer I can find up here has no calcium or magnesium in it. Hopefully someone can chime in to help me out. Thanks kelo
