Default New to Phalaenopsis Orchid, need some help.

Hi all,

I am new to Orchids and have 2x Phalaenopsis Orchids. I have 1 with 1 stem (with flowers) and another with 2 stems. 1 with no flower at all and the other with flowers. The 1 with flowers about a month ago I cut the tip side ways in order to get more flowers but until now nothing. Should I cut it from the bottom? If yes how should I cut it please?

I am also dosing Baby Bio Orchid Food and watering weekly.

The spikes can take a long time to produce more flowers or even a keiki. I would leave the spikes for a few more weeks to see what, if anything, happens. Baby Bio is fine if that's all you can get but I would suggest you try to get a specific orchid fertiliser because they are better suited to orchid growth.

I can't help with your fertilizer question as I'm in the US but: Hello and welcome to the OB!

Try ebay or look on UK sites or any other European country.

Most orchid fertilizers aren't 20-20-20.
In fact, I've never seen one. My Shultz expert is a good bloom formula, and it is 19-31-17
I also have a Plant prod 25-10-10, but I like the Schultz better.

Hi,
I use Jack's Classic 20-20-20 which I buy locally but this ebay vendor carries it. Why not write to them and ask if they will ship to you.
Can't hurt..............The link goes to their ebay site.

Peter's is also a good product and must be available on ebay. Just check before you buy that they will send to you.
